Introducing the Subscription Review Toolkit

The Subscription Review Toolkit is a step-by-step way to have an AI assistant read a list of your transactions and show you what repeats, what it costs, and what deserves a second look.

Get instant access to a 15-page step-by-step guide, a ready-made skill you can upload to Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, a copy-and-paste Quick Start prompt that works in any AI chat, builder instructions for a custom GPT, Gem, or Copilot agent, and a fictional practice file so you can try it before you share any real data.

If any of this sounds familiar…

  • You scroll your card statement and see charges you do not remember signing up for.
  • A free trial turned into a monthly bill, and you are not sure when.
  • You pay for two tools that seem to do the same job.
  • You know you should review your subscriptions, but you do not know where to start.
  • You are afraid to cancel something you might actually need.
  • You do not want to hand your bank details to a random app.
  • You keep meaning to look into it, and the months keep going by.

Here is what changes

  • Instead of guessing, you get a clear list of every charge that repeats, with the cost per month and per year.
  • Instead of wondering about that free trial, the review looks for possible trial-to-paid conversions and unexpected renewals, so you know what to check.
  • Instead of wondering about overlap, you see which tools might be doing the same job, marked as something to confirm, not a verdict.
  • Instead of not knowing where to start, you follow the same steps every time, from download to action plan.
  • Instead of worrying about cancelling the wrong thing, the review treats insurance, payroll, banking, security, and similar services with a review-first approach. You decide what stays.
  • Instead of sharing your banking logins, you share one redacted file. The guide shows you how to remove sensitive details first, and the review never needs a password or a full account number.
  • Instead of another “someday” project, you get a 90-day plan with the quick wins first.

What is included

1. The How-To Guide (15 pages, PDF) Step-by-step instructions from start to finish. It shows you how to download your transactions from your bank, card, or accounting software, how to redact them before sharing, how to run your first review, and how to read each section of the report. It includes a fictional sample report so you know what to expect.

2. The Subscription Review Skill (ready to upload) A reusable skill you set up once. Upload it to Claude, or to ChatGPT or Gemini where skills are available on your plan, and ask for a subscription review any time. It starts by asking whether your review is personal or business, then tailors the questions and the report to match.

3. The Quick Start Prompt (works in any AI chat) No setup, no plan requirements. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot as your first message, and the assistant will ask its intake questions and wait for your confirmation before it analyzes anything.

4. Builder Instructions for a Custom Assistant A shorter version of the instructions, written to fit the 8,000-character limit in Microsoft Copilot’s agent builder. Use it to create a custom GPT, a Gem, or a Copilot agent if skills are not available on your plan or account.

5. A Fictional Practice File A CSV of made-up transactions with a duplicate charge built in. Try the whole process on it first, so the first time you share real data, you already know what the review does.

6. The Report Format Every review follows the same seven-part structure: an executive summary, a recurring subscription inventory, optimization recommendations, duplicate and consolidation opportunities, top budget actions, items that need your verification, and a 90-day plan. Savings are separated into confirmed and potential, so you never mistake an estimate for a certainty.

Questions

Who is this for? Small business owners who pay for software, memberships, and services across several cards, and households who want to clean up streaming, apps, memberships, and bills. The review asks which one you are and adjusts.

Which AI tools does it work with? Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot. The Quick Start prompt works in all four. The ready-made skill upload works in Claude, in ChatGPT workspaces where skills are enabled, and in Gemini where skills are enabled. Microsoft Copilot uses the Quick Start prompt or an agent you build with the included instructions. Menus and plans change, so the guide notes what was available in October 2026.

Do I need a paid AI plan? Not for the Quick Start prompt in most cases, but plans and limits differ by platform and change often. Some features, such as file uploads, skill uploads, and custom assistants, depend on your plan. Check your platform’s current limits before you buy.

Is my financial information safe? You decide what you share. The guide walks you through removing account numbers, personal names, and other sensitive details before you upload anything, and the review never asks for passwords, PINs, or full card or account numbers. Each AI platform has its own settings for chat history and data retention, so check yours as well. If the data belongs to your employer or a client, check their policies first.

Will it cancel my subscriptions for me? No. It does not connect to your accounts. It reads the file you share and gives you recommendations. You make every change.

Will it tell me exactly how much I will save? No. A list of transactions cannot show whether you use a service, what your contract says, or what plans are available. The review labels confirmed savings, such as a duplicate charge, separately from potential savings that you need to verify. Results are estimates, and they can vary by AI platform, model, and plan.

Is this tax, legal, or financial advice? No. It is an educational and organizational tool. It can flag items to discuss with your tax preparer, but it does not give tax conclusions. Consult a qualified professional about your situation.

What do I get when I buy? One download: a zip file containing the guide, the skill, the prompts, and the practice file.
