Monthly bookkeeping from a licensed CPA

Your books, done. And finally explained.

Monthly bookkeeping for women running service businesses, from a CPA who stays to translate.

Clean, current, tax-ready books every month. Plus someone who tells you what they mean and what to do next. Based in Mesa, Arizona, working with US based clients nationwide.

Starting at $397/month · Month to month · Leave any month with 30 days' notice

You're not failing. Let's get that straight first.

You have clients. You have revenue. You have a business built from something real.

But on a random Tuesday, you check your bank account. Not to review it, just to feel okay. You get a number that tells you nothing. So you close the app. There's a client to serve, content to post, and a list that never gets shorter.

Meanwhile, quietly:

You don't need another app. You need the books done, and someone to tell you what they're saying.

What you actually get

Here's what a month with me looks like.

This is Know Your Numbers, Plan Your Pay, the plan most people choose.

  1. I do the books.

Every transaction categorized. Every bank, card and payment account reconciled. You connect your accounts once, and I confirm when each one is in.

  2. I close the month on a predictable date.

Same date, every month. No wondering whether your numbers are "done yet."

  3. You get reports that are already translated.

Your profit & loss and balance sheet, with two or three things circled and explained. You never get a raw P&L.

  4. We have your Monthly Money Ritual.

45 to 60 minutes live on video. Or, if you'd rather skip the calendar, a recorded Loom walkthrough and a written summary.

  5. You get it in plain English.

A "Numbers in Plain English" recap within one business day. One insight, one decision, one next action.

  6. You know your tax number.

A monthly nudge with the exact dollar amount to move to tax savings, based on a percentage we agree on together.

  7. Year end is already handled.

A clean year-end package, ready to hand to your tax preparer.

Pricing

Start with a File Health Check

Prices shown are starting points. Your monthly price adjusts to your transaction volume, number of accounts and any add-ons, and it’s confirmed in writing after your File Health Check. Every plan is month to month with 30 days’ notice, plus a one-time $250 onboarding fee. Cleanup, if you need it, is quoted separately.

See the full pricing breakdown →

What setup costs

A one-time $250 onboarding fee. That covers connecting your accounts, setting up your chart of accounts, and getting everything ready for your first close.

Behind on your books? Cleanup is quoted separately, after I've looked at your actual file in the File Health Check. You'll never absorb a backlog at the monthly rate, and I'll never guess at a number for a file I haven't seen.

Monthly service starts once your opening balances are reliable.

What's not included

  • Tax return preparation or filing. I don't prepare or file returns. Your year-end package goes to your own tax preparer, and it makes their job easier.
  • Available as add-ons for an additional fee: payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax filings, inventory tracking, and additional business entities
  • Anything over the transaction and account limits of your plan (we'll talk before that ever happens)

How starting works

It starts with a free File Health Check.

No discovery call. I look at your real books and put what I find in writing.

Tell me about your books

A short form, mostly one-tap answers. About five minutes.

Give me a look

Within two business days I email you simple steps for read-only access. I never need your passwords.

Get your written read

Within three business days: what shape your books are in, what's actually wrong, what cleanup would cost, and which plan fits.

Pick a start date

If you feel called to say yes, you get a personal welcome video on day one and your first flagged insight within 14 days.

Start my File Health Check

This isn't for you if:

  • You only want your tax return filed
  • You're shopping for the cheapest bookkeeper you can find

This is for you if:

  • You run a service business: coaching, consulting, creative, wellness, agency or local services
  • You want the books off your plate entirely
  • You also want to understand them, without becoming a bookkeeper
  • You like knowing exactly what you're paying and what you get
  • You want a CPA, not a data-entry service

More than one business, running payroll, or selling products with inventory? I can take those on too. They're priced as add-ons on top of the standard plans, so just mention them in your application and I'll include them in your written read.

My promises

What you can hold me to.

Specific enough that you'll know the moment I miss one.

A useful observation within 14 days

Something real about your business, flagged before your first full month is even over.

The same close date every month

Predictable, so you're never left wondering when your numbers will be ready.

One insight, one decision, one next action

Every Money Ritual ends with all three. No meeting that goes nowhere.

Your recap within one business day

The plain-English summary lands while the conversation is still fresh.

A quarterly summary

Every three months, the bigger picture: what changed, what's working, what to watch.

Replies within two business days

One business day on Profit Pulse. And you can leave any month with 30 days' notice.

Who actually touches your books

Me. A licensed CPA with a corporate finance background.

I'm Kristin Winstanley. I spent 20+ years in corporate finance and accounting, building the budgets and running the analysis for multi-million dollar companies.

I've worked for multiple publicly traded companies. That means I was held to compliance and SOX standards, where accuracy, documentation and working with auditors came with the territory. Your books get that same standard, so if the IRS ever knocks, your numbers are supported.

And because I'm a CPA, I speak CPA. I know the standard tax implications for a small business, so I flag the right items as they happen and coordinate with your tax preparer on whatever tax plan or strategy you have. I don't prepare or file returns myself, but your preparer gets books that are ready to work from.

Rather learn to do it yourself?

That's what Finance Flow Lab is for. The community is free to join, and Premium is an upgrade inside. (It's also included in Know Your Numbers, Plan Your Pay, so you can have the books done and still learn the practice.)

Questions, answered honestly

Very common, and not a character flaw. The File Health Check tells us how far behind you really are. Cleanup is quoted separately from the monthly fee, after I've seen your file, so you know the full cost before we start. Monthly service begins once your opening balances are reliable.

No. I don't prepare or file tax returns. I keep your books clean all year and hand your tax preparer a year-end package that makes their job faster (and often cheaper for you).

I prefer to work in Xero (I'm Xero certified), and I also work in QuickBooks Online and Kick, and I'm open to a few others. I come from accounting, not from a software company, so I don't force every business into one system. Different setups fit different businesses and situations. If your books live in a spreadsheet or nowhere at all, tell me in the form and I'll recommend the right fit in your written read.

Every plan is month to month. Give me 30 days' notice and you're done. No six-month contract, no cancellation fee.

Me. Kristin Winstanley, licensed CPA. Not an offshore team and not a junior bookkeeper.

Within three business days on Books in Flow, two on Know Your Numbers, Plan Your Pay, and one on Profit Pulse.

Very little. Keep your accounts connected, answer the occasional "what was this charge?" question, and show up for your Money Ritual if you've chosen the live option. Receipts go through a simple workflow I set up for you.

No. I'm based in Mesa and love working with East Valley businesses, but everything runs online, so I work with clients anywhere in the US.

Yes. It's how every engagement starts, and it's yours to keep whether or not we work together.
